In a recent article, P. Silva and E. Rodaro studied the stucture of the submonoids of fixed points of a endomorphism of a partially commutative Artin monoid. On the other hand, some years ago, John Crisp described the structure of the submonoids of fixed point of an automorphism of an Artin monoid. Here we will explain how these two results can be generalised and unified. We will also introduce natural distances on Artin monoids and characterise the endomorphisms of the latter that are contraction relatevely to the considered distances.
